Lion's breath, also known as Simhasana pranayama, is a breathing technique that can help clear the throat and release tension in the body and mind. It can also help with:

    Lion's breath can help release emotions, which can be beneficial for people with speech impediments or who are self-conscious. 


  • Stretching the face and neck

    Lion's breath can help relieve tension in the face and neck. this is great to do in the morning to clear the CO2 out of your lungs and stretch any muscles / jaw that were grinding or clenching all night.



  • Calming the nervous system

    Lion's breath can help activate the body's parasympathetic nervous system, which can help move you out of fight-or-flight mode. 


  • Increasing lung capacity

    Regularly practicing breathing techniques can increase oxygen levels and lung capacity. 


  • To practice lion's breath, you can:

    1. Press your palms down on your knees and spread them wide open

    2. Inhale through your nose while gazing up

    3. Exhale strongly by opening your mouth wide, sticking out your tongue, and saying "HAAAH"

    4. Repeat a few times
